Lino Printing on Cotton - Workshop with Robyn Henwood,

e 40555899
Robyn Henwood comes straight from her yearly "Craftsperson in Residence" at Ayers Rock Resort where she handpaints and prints images of Australia.

She has been printing and painting on silk for the last 30 years. She trained in Batik in Indonesia and then at RMIT in Melbourne as a Textile Designer. She spent time at the Jam Factory Craft and Design Centre in Adelaide and now has an established studio where she teaches many print and dye techniques for textiles.

For this workshop, she will lead you in designing and making a simple lino cut repeatable design. You will then print this design on back grounds of fabric that you will create using a variety of mark making techniques. Fabric created this way can be used for quilting and patchwork as well as garments and artworks for the wall.  Lino lends itself to making quite graphic, contemporary images which can also be hand-coloured.

Gentle Art of Felting with Yumiko Kanemura

1st & 2nd June, 2013.   Gentle art of felting with Yumiko Kanemura.

Yumiko has not set a minimum number, so this workshop should proceed. We still have vacancies.
Members $150 for one day & $270 for two days. Non Members:  $170 for one day & $300 for two Days.   Yumiko has offered to bring fibre supplies and they will cost $10.
When booking advise yes or no for fibre needed.  The plan is to make a shawl or scarf for beginners and a hat for advanced felters on day one, then we plan to make a bag on day two.
Yumiko uses a gentle form of felting including a Russian technique.
The format may be reversed depending on students on each day.
Single day felters will be offered a position after two day felters.  Bookings and payment  is essential.
Phone 40671009 or email club.
Below are photos of Yumiko's scarves, shawl and handbag

Ribbon Embroidery Workshop with Annette Anderson

This workshop held on 16th March was well attended by 10 members, the newest member being Sue Blain. Full attendance of both first and second-timers made for a busy morning. Annette had us all under control and provided a light-hearted atmosphere with some more stressed than others. A general happy feeling of satisfaction was eminent however and it became obvious that Annette will be lined-up for another Ribbon-embroidery Workshop next year.
So for those who missed out this time, make sure to put your name down as it is well worthwhile.
